Symptom

Error: '<Package_name> could not be imported' when importing a folder from source tenant to target tenant in SAC

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.8.16

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC
  2. Go to Transport-> Import
  3. Select the desired exported package and click on it
  4. Select the second import option: 'Overwrite data only'

    Notice the error: Couldn't import object <> InternalError: dberror(PreparedStatement.executeUpdate):2048 - column store error: fail to create scenario: [2007] Index does not exist;Failed to get CalcIndex 'AAA::TENANT_F:undefined(t-1)'
  5. Select the third import option: 'Overwrite objects and data'

    Notice the error: Couldn't import object 'ALERTING_LOG_VIEW [t.4.sap.fpa.services.alerting%3AALERTING_LOG_VIEW]' : A resource with that name and type already exists in the folder 

Cause

The user importing the file containing planning model has Update and Maintain permission in the source tenant due to which export is successful.
However, this user does not have Update and Maintain permission in the target tenant due to which import fails.

Resolution

Provide Update and Maintain permission to the user in target SAC tenant.
