3560673 - SAP Host Agent Error: LOG Q0I=> NiIAccept2: accept (24: Too many open files)

Symptom

  • The SAP Host Agent stopped working and displayed the error: LOG Q0I=> NiIAccept2: accept (24: Too many open files).
  • The issue was observed across all SAP application hosts including HANA DB and Netweaver/S/4 Application servers.
  • The Host agent kernel version is irrelevant.
  • specific but not limited to SLES 15 sp6
  •  Alternative symptom could be observed from hostagent start service log: tail /usr/sap/hostctrl/work/sapstartsrv.log
