Symptom

  • Error: 9947 and 701 happened when running the dbcc checkstorage command on a huge DB. 
    Error: 9947, Severity: 17, State: 6
    An attempt to allocate memory failed due to insufficient ASE memory
  • When checking the usage of procedure cache using sp_monitorconfig, the usage of procedure cache kept increasing.
  • The usage of procedure cache decreased after the dbcc checkstorage command finished.
