3561571 - Brconnect fails to change password of schema account SAPSR3DB - NetWeaver

Symptom

  • Changing password of schema account SAPSR3DB with brconnect failed with error "FATAL: Current VM is not supported according to the specified compatibility list".
    brconnect -u / -c -f chpass -o SAPSR3DB -s java 
  • In brconnect trace log Java file is pointed to '/usr/sap/<SID>/J00/exe/sapjvm_8/bin/java' but there is no file. Then it uses the wrong JVM '/oracle/<SID>/19/jdk/bin/java'.
    BR0250I BR_TRACE: level 5, function BrFileStatGet exit with '1111 4096'
    BR0248I BR_TRACE: level 5, function BrFileStatGet entry with '/usr/sap/<SID>/J00/exe/sapjvm_8/bin/java'
    BR0250I BR_TRACE: level 5, function BrFileStatGet exit with 'FILE_NULL'
    BR0248I BR_TRACE: level 5, function BrFileStatGet entry with '/oracle/<SID>/19/jdk/bin/java'
    BR0250I BR_TRACE: level 5, function BrFileStatGet exit with '8016 8192'
  • There is Java file '/usr/sap/<SID>/J03/exe/sapjvm_8/bin/java'. But Brconnect try to find Java file '/usr/sap/<SID>/J00/exe/sapjvm_8/bin/java'.
