3562622 - Permission for HRIS fields not working on the Latest People Profile - 2H2024

Permissions related to fields of HRIS elements such as Job Information and Employment Details, Compensation Information are not respected on the Latest People Profile.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. For example, no permission is granted to Job Information->pay grade or any custom string field.
2. These fields are still visible on the Latest People Profile's Job Data UI.
3. Switch to the Legacy People Profile, these fields are invisible.

Since 2H2024 release, if you have the Employee Central HRIS OData API (read-only) administrator permission, then you can view all Employee Central entities on People Profile.

The system behavior has now changed as follows:

Even if Employee A has the Employee Central HRIS OData API (read-only) permission, if they do not have field-level permission for field b, they will not be able to view field b in the latest People Profile.

The Employee Central HRIS OData API (read-only) permission is specifically related to API access. With this permission, even if Employee A cannot view certain data on the front-end screen due to missing field-level permissions, they can still access the relevant data via the API (for example, using the Integration Center tool).

We recommend not granting this permission to end users, as it is specifically designed for technical users and integration purposes.
