3564165 - Submitted journal entries are directly posted without approval from approvers in Verify General Journal Entries app - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

In “Verify General Journal Entries” app, journal entries are posted without approval from approvers, which is not the expected behavior. The expected behavior is that journal entries should not be posted before they are approved.

Submit the journal entries in Verify General Journal Entries app. Journal entries are directly posted without approval.

Check the configurations of the workflow in “Manage Workflows for Journal Entry Verification - In General Ledger” app.

Step 1:

Step Type: Verify General Journal Entry

Recipients tab:

Role: Group 1 for Verifying G/L Journal Entries

Step to be completed by: Select an option based on business requirement. This decides whether a journal entry needs to be approved by one approver or all approvers in the group.

Click “create” in step 1.

Click “create” to add step 2.

Step 2:

Step Type: Post General Journal Entry

Click “save” and activate the workflow.

Then the workflow should be working as expected, which means the journal entry will be in submitted status instead of posted status before being verified.
