3564244 - Inspection Results Do Not Affect Confirming Inbound Warehouse Task

Symptom

In an inbound logistics document flow, there are supplier delivery receiving inspection XYZ, inbound warehouse task ABC. The results recorded in inspection XYZ has no impact to quantity can be confirmed in warehouse task ABC.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to work center Inbound Logistics, access view Task Control.
  2. Search for the specific warehouse task ABC, which will display the related warehouse request DEF.
  3. Open the warehouse request DEF and select the Document Flow tab to view the associated inspection XYZ.
  4. Open the inspection XYZ and select the Results tab to view the maintained Inspected Quantity, Destructed Quantity, and Nonconforming Units.
  5. Open the warehouse task DEF and click Confirm, under tab Line Items, any actual quantity can be maintained for corresponding line item, despite the quantities rejected in the inspection.

Cause

The Inspections created manually do not affect the stock. The full quantity can still be received/issued/produced, although there are number of defects, nonconforming or destructed units. The quantities recorded in Inspections are for reporting proposes only.

Even when inspection is created automatically according to inspection plan, besides those inspections created by inspection plan with type "Final inspection - production", no inspection will impact receiving/issuing quantity. For inspection plan with type "Receiving inspection - supplier delivery", the only impact it can bring to inbound logistics is from field "Inspection Stock" (whether to separate received stock to be inspected) and checkbox "Do not Stock as Inspection Stock" (whether to mark inspection for received stock).

Resolution

The system does not support the integration of receiving inspection with inbound logistics in a way that the results of the inspection could impact the confirmation quantity in the related warehouse task, regardless of whether the inspection is created manually without an inspection plan or automatically with a plan.
