Symptom

The connection test to an SAP liveCache database of version 7.9 from the liveCache assistant (transaction lc10) fails:

DBM not possible
Error when calling function module DBM_EXECUTE_SDB
Command:                                db_state
Function            : DBM_EXECUTE
Command             : db_state -v
Error               : DBM Error
Return Code         : -24941
Error Message       : ERR_NEEDLOGON: DBM server logon required
