Symptom
- In SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, the system incorrectly calculates the amount of absence hours for employees.
- The issue arises when an employee records a break and the system additionally deducts break time from the absence.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time Off
Reproducing the Issue
- An employee has a Planned Working Time from 08:00 to 20:00 and a Dynamic Break of 60 minutes after 6 hours of work.
- The employee records a Working Time of 5:37 hours and a Break of 1:00 hour.
- The employee records a Vacation from 02:30 PM to 08:00 PM.
- The system incorrectly calculates the Vacation as 5 hours instead of 5.5 hours.
Cause
- The system does not consider recorded attendances when calculating absences. It generates breaks as if the full work schedule is worked. Therefore, if there is only an afternoon absence, the system deducts breaks from the absence even though no other record exists.
- This is currently and expected system behavior.
Resolution
- Product Engineering is working on an enhancement which is currently planned for 1H 2026, but not yet confirmed.
- Please reach out to your CSM/CEE to track the enhancement 'TIM-49697'
