3565609 - SAC import data connection to Teradata 16 fails with error "Unable to connect to datasource. Check your connection details then try again."

Symptom

Cannot connect to data source error when creating a live connection to teradata 16 on private AWS
Teradata Database error "The UserId, Password or Account is invalid." in Cloud Agent Tomcat logs

Reproducing the Issue

Set up cloud connector and cloud agent following the documentation: Import Data Connection to an SQL Database | SAP Help Portal
In SAC, create the connection to the Teradata 16 database and receive the error message

Cause

The database is actually Teradata 17 which was renamed to Teradata 16 during the configuration, Teradata 17 at this time is not supported

Resolution

Teradata 17 is not supported and connections to this data source is not supported or compatible
