3567194 - Unable to Add Extension Field to Report as Data Sources are Missing

You have created an extension field in Planning and Production Master Data work center, in Product Specifications view, however, when trying to extend the extension field to report, the data sources are missing.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Planning and Production Master Data work center.
2. Go to the Product Specifications view.
3. Open any Product Specification.
4. Start Adaptation Mode.
5. Find and Open the relevant extension field.
6. Click in Show Further Usage.
7. Navigate to Data Sources and Reports.

No data sources and reports are found.

The data source list in the Further Usage screen always displays all data sources that match the extension field type and its business context. If a data source is not listed, it cannot be extended with the field.

This is the standard system behavior.

In order to be aware of the available Data Sources and Reports for each Business Context, refer to the SAP Help Document Data Sources Enabled for Extension Fields.

As an alternative, it is possible to submit a new improvement request on SAP Customer Influence website (existing ones can also be voted for). This way, new features might be considered for future releases.
