3567569 - Warning Message When Trying To Change the Line Items Field in the Manage G/L Account Master Data App

When trying to change the Line Items field of a G/L Account from "No" to "Yes" using the Mass Change option within the Manage G/L Account Master Data app, there is a warning message "Your changes don't apply to certain fields because they cannot be edited. Please see popover messages for details".

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Manage G/L Account Master Data app.
2. Set Chart of Account, Company Code and search for the desired G/L Account.
3. Click in the Settings button to include the Line Items column.
4. Select the G/L Account with Line Items field value as "No".
5. Press "Mass Change" and "Other Attributes".
6. Change the Line Items from "No" to "Yes" and click in Apply.
7. See the warning message: "Your changes don't apply to certain fields because they cannot be edited. Please see popover messages for details".
8. The warning also displays the Chart of Account, Company Code and the G/L Acct External ID involved in the scenario.

The Line Items field has been discontinued, and changing it has no effect in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

The waning message occurs due to the impossibility to change the Line Items in the Manage G/L Account Master Data app, as it's deprecated and it should not affect the data display. 

If the intention to modify this field is due to the impossibility to switch on the Open Item Management because the account does not have a Line Item Management, then the warning occurs due to the management of open items not being available for this specific account. One possibility for this is because of the account being maintained in Zero-Balance Clearing Account, which does not allow the account to be open-item managed.
