3567707 - Error : Time type not valid on DD.MM.YYYY starting at ABC , while re assigning the Time Confirmation for a Project task

Error message is displayed while trying to reassign the Time Confirmation in Project task.

Error - “Time type not valid on DD.MM.YYYY starting at ABC".

SAP Business ByDesign 

1. Go to Project Management work center
2. Navigate to Time and Expenses under the Projects view
3. Search for the respective Project/ Project task
4. Scroll towards the right side end of the screen to view the Reassignment status
5. The Reassignment status is in Error
6. Click on the error symbol to view the error message

The system will try to fetch the default time type category “Time allocation”. Error occurs if the default time type category is inactive in the system.

As per the standard system behavior, below are the details:

1. If the time recording method is set to "Positive with terminal Integration" then the system will allow to book the time sheet using ESS Time sheet from Self-Services against Project/Sales Order, only if the time type category “Time allocation” is active.
2. System will consider Time allocation as the default time type category and doesn't allow to record the times other than this.
3. Make the time type category “Time allocation” active using the below steps :

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to Overview view.
3. Search for the activity *Time types*.
4. Select the country specific Time type configuration element.
5. Select the “Maintain Employee Time Types” option.
6. Select the relevant Time type and extend the Valid to date to Unlimited.
7. Under Service activation tab, check mark the options ESS time sheets and Time Administration to activate the time types in the respective time sheets. This will ensure that the default time type category is active for ESS Time sheet and Time Administration.
8. And click on Save.

     4. And then perform Change Project Task Assignment for the respective Project task in the Time and Expenses section.

NOTE: As a workaround, change the time recording method to "Positive" and re-assign the time confirmation / perform Change Project Task Assignment. If required, the time recording method can be again changed back to "Positive with terminal integration" after the re-assignment is completed.
