Symptom
Is it possible to remove stale entries/unwanted entries from the onboarding homepage for the responsible user or the onboardee?
Some common examples* for this request would be:
- Removing the Compliance Card from the homepage as the user is no longer part of the organization
- Removing the Rehire Verification Card from the homepage as the rehire coordinator is not part of the rehire verification process anymore
- Onboarding Activities were completed but the homepage card was not removed
*Above mentioned examples are just for reference. This KBA explains the steps to remove stale entries for all the Onboarding Activities.

Resolution
We can use the check tool to remove the stale entries or unwanted homepage cards/todo tasks. We have two options to remove these entries:
- Stale To-Do tasks and employee home page cards are cleared (Remove the onboarding tasks/activities assigned to all the responsible users from the homepage cards and to-do task tile).
- Stale Onboarding home page cards are cleared (Removes a specific homepage assigned to one user only. It does not play any role in the to-do task tile)
The below image shows the options that can be selected in the check tool.
Please find the step-by-step guide on how to remove the stale entries.
Option 1: Stale To-Do tasks and employee home page cards are cleared
Step 1:
Go to Check Tool > Click on "Validation" > Under "Application", select "Onboarding" > Click on the check box "Stale To-Do tasks and employee home page cards are cleared" > Run Check
Step 2:
Enter the Process Trigger Id (Click Here for a detailed description on how to fetch the Process Id) and select the to do category which you would like to remove.
[Note: Todo category represents the name of the todo entry which you would like to remove such as New Hire Data Review, Provide Data for Onboarding Paperwork (Personal Data Collection), etc.]
Step 3:
Upon selecting the To-Do entry, you will receive the list of entries which is associated with the candidate. This list provides the To-Do Id and the associated assignee (user Id) information. You have the option to download this list by clicking on the "Excel" icon on the right side of the result header.
Once you have the relevant details, click on Quick Fix.
Step 4:
Complete steps 1, 2 and 3
Step 5:
The tool would require a few seconds/minutes to complete the execution. Kindly wait for the request to be completed successfully. Click on refresh under "History" for the results to be updated successfully. The history will show all the execution results before and after the fix was completed.
NOTE: The above steps will remove all the homepage cards and to-do entries associated with the respective responsible task assignees. We cannot remove the homepage cards/todo entries only for individual users.
After the above-mentioned steps are performed, the homepage card and to-do task tiles will be removed.
Option 2: Stale Onboarding home page cards are cleared.
This option can only be used if the steps followed in Option 1 did not clear the homepage card or if you would like to remove the homepage card for individual responsible task assignees.
Step 1:
Go to the homepage and open the developer tools.
Note: There are several ways to open the developer tools, however, the most common way to open it would be to right-click on the page (any browser) and open the "Inspect" tool
Step 2:
Once the Developer Tools are open, click on the "Network" tab as shown in the picture below. Post which, you will have to add a filter using the keyword "card" and click on the clear icon above the filter. In the below image, we have highlighted both sections.
Step 3:
- If the homepage card is the first card on the homepage such as the image below, we will perform the steps mentioned below the image:
-
- Refresh the homepage
- In the Developer Tools, select the name "infoCards?CardLimit=1...."
- Click on the "Response" tab
- Search for the candidate's name
NOTE: The yellow highlights are only for verification purposes, since the homepage cards will be removed forever, it is best practice to validate the candidate information. However, the blue highlights will be used in Step 5. Please make a note of the sourceTxId, userId and the category (In this image the sourceTxId is 596530, userId is 00123 and the category is ONBOARDING_DATA_REVIEW_TASKS).
- If the homepage card is bundled within the other homepage cards such as the image below, we will perform the steps mentioned below the image:
- Refresh the homepage
- In the Developer Tools, select the name "cards?category=...."
- Click on the "Response" tab
- Search for the candidate's name
NOTE: The yellow highlights are only for verification purposes, since the homepage cards will be removed forever, it is best practice to validate the candidate information. However, the blue highlights will be used in Step 5. Please make a note of the sourceTxId, userId and the category (In this image the sourceTxId is 535524, userId is 5799 and the category is ONBOARDING_COMPLIANCE_TASKS).
Step 4:
Go to Check Tool > Click on "Validation" > Under "Application", select "Onboarding" > Click on the check box "Stale Onboarding home page cards are cleared" > Run Check
