Symptom

How to change SAP Datasphere Tenant from SAP Managed to Customer Managed (BTP) without losing data. 

Environment

SAP Datasphere.

Resolution

CPEA Free Plan or Standard Plans are managed in BTP, while Subscription Tenants are managed directly by SAP.
Note that, it is currently not possible to migrate an existing Subscription Tenant to CPEA. See details in SAP KBA 3331977 - Datasphere tenant is not appearing in SAP BTP Cockpit.

To change SAP Datasphere Tenant from SAP Managed to Customer Managed (BTP) without losing Data follow the below steps:
1. Create a new BTP Account. See Create Your SAP Datasphere Service Instance in SAP BTP.
2. Transport all created objects, connections, spaces from SAP Managed Tenant to the new Customer Managed Tenant. See Transporting Content Between Tenants.
3. If required, load data from sources. See Acquiring Data in the Data Builder and Import a Dataset into SAP Datasphere
4. Discuss with Account Manager to delete tenant A. See SAP KBA 2626344 - Who is the SAP Account Manager for my company.
