3569481 - The Pricing Date Field Does not Displayed the Same Date as the Posting Date Field in a Sales Order Document

Symptom

When changing the Posting Date of the Sales Order ABC, the Pricing Date is automatically changed to the exact same Date. However when changing the Posting Date of the Sales Order EDF, the Pricing Date is not changed and remains the same.

(where ABC and EDF represents the Sales Order IDs).

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Order Work Center.
  2. Go to the Sales Order View.
  3. Filter for All Orders.
  4. Search for the Sales Order ABC.
  5. Open, Select View All.
  6. In the General tab, change the Posting Date to DD/MM/YYY.
  7. Navigate to the Pricing and Invoicing tab.
  8. Select the Pricing tab.

The Pricing Date field will be displayed the same date as the Posting Date field.

However if the same steps are performed for the Sales Order EDF, the Pricing Date will not be displayed the same as the Posting Date.

Cause

The Pricing Date in the Pricing and Invoicing tab and Invoicing sub tab of a Sales Order that was created without a follow up document is derived from the Posting Date of the Sales Order. In this case if the Posting Date is changed the Pricing Date will also be changed.

However, if the Pricing Date is manually changed in a Sales Order, the connection between Posting Date and Pricing Date will be interrupted and when the Posting Date is changed again, the Pricing Date will remain the same.

Additionally, the Pricing Date in the Pricing and Invoicing tab and Invoicing sub tab of a Sales Order that was created as a follow up document from e.g. a Sales Quote is derived from the preceding (e.g. Sales Quote) document.

Resolution

This is the standard system behavior.
