Symptom
Application error 'Failed to PATCH "Application Information" update' appears when trying to update SSN field from the Latest Applicant Workbench.

Reproducing the Issue
- Edit the application.
- Fill in the "Social Security Number (SSN)" field.
- Click Save.
- Observe an application error appears.
internalMessage=Failed to PATCH "Application Information" update.
errorMessage=Bad request
name=Error
code=BadRequest
In the browser developer tool, there is an error : "ssn This is an invalid entry. This field should contain nine numeric characters."
- Press F12 or right-click on the page to open the browser developer tool.
- Select the Network tab.
- Reproduce the issue.
- Select the log that appears immediately on clicking the Save button. Usually, the log starts with the application id "1234/".
Resolution
The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed on 2H 2025 release (b2511).

Workaround
The error is related to the feature: Manage Recruiting Settings > Enable field level validation on standard Social Security Number field on Application.
To resolve the error, enter the SSN in the format '123456789' (nine numeric characters without manually adding dashes '-').
