Application error 'Failed to PATCH "Application Information" update' appears when trying to update SSN field from the Latest Applicant Workbench.

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

1. Edit the application.
2. Fill in the "Social Security Number (SSN)" field.
3. Click Save.
4. Observe an application error appears.

In the browser developer tool, there is an error : "ssn This is an invalid entry. This field should contain nine numeric characters."

1. Press F12 or right-click on the page to open the browser developer tool.
2. Select the Network tab.
3. Reproduce the issue.
4. Select the log that appears immediately on clicking the Save button. Usually, the log starts with the application id "1234/".

The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed on 2H 2025 release (b2511).

Workaround

The error is related to the feature: Manage Recruiting Settings > Enable field level validation on standard Social Security Number field on Application.

To resolve the error, enter the SSN in the format '123456789' (nine numeric characters without manually adding dashes '-').
