3569824 - Issue with Forward Propagation on Position object in Position to Job Information Synchronization.

•  An error occurred on the position object when adding a new record between two existing records, and the field you're modifying is associated with another field during the position-to-job information synchronization process.
• In this case, the system does forward propagation for the job information, but it throws an error for position forward propagation. 
• Error:
  • Changes were propagated forward to future records with errors. Please follow the error details and correct the entry.
  • Invalid Value passed in the Field A in object with external code as POSABC.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Position Management

1. Configure association between Field A (parent) and Field B (child) on Position object.
2. Search for Position POSABC in the Position Org chart.
3. Click Show Details > click Edit.
4. Choose a future date.
5. Update Field B (child) to any value. 
6. Check job information of assigned employee. The data has been synced to job information.
7. Go back to Position org chart and search for position POSABC.
8. Click Show Details > click Edit.
9. Choose effective date as 1 day before the date you choose in Step 3.
10. Update the Field A ( parent)  & Field B ( child ) > save. 
11. Result: 
    • Warning/Error message is shown.
    • The changed value "Field A" is propagated and synchronized to the Job Information's Future record, but not to the Position object's Future record.

The issue is caused due to Forward propagation limitations on MDF objects like Position, Department, and Business Unit, while Job Information supports forward propagation logic, ensuring expected functionality during Position To Job Information synchronization.

The Product Management has confirmed that forward propagation of fields is currently not supported in MDF Objects. 

Please request an enhancement request as per KBA 2090228 , the product team can assess and implement the functionality based on feasibility, considering the requirement and business needs.
