3570723 - Error Message “Enter Material ID” When Replicating Material to C4C by MaterialReplicationInitiatedByExternalIn

You are replicating materials to C4C MaterialReplicationInitiatedByExternalIn and you are verifying the error "Enter material ID" on the Web Service Message Monitoring tool.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Go to the Administrator work center.
2. Go to the General Setting work center view.
3. Open the Web Service Message Monitoring under System Administration.
4. Select query All.
5. Search for message with error "Enter material ID"

The error message refers to the creation of a product. On the C4C system, there is no automatic number range defined for the materials. Therefore, the system is trying to create a product without a known ID. In addition, as no automatic number range is present, no new product INTERNAL_ID can be drawn from the number range. This results in an error message about a missing product ID.

To resolve the issue, you need to setup an automatic number range. To achieve it, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Overview work center view.
3. Search and open the Number Ranges for Materials fine-tuning activity.
4. Click on Add and maintain type as Automatic.
5. Define the desired number range.
6. Save and close it.
