3570727 - Issue with 'Export to Excel' functionality with scope All in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

While exporting the table to excel and enabling the 'Include number formatting' toggle and selecting scope as All, the exported excel file is showing more number after decimal point, though it is set to another number in the styling panel.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.21.11

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC
  2. Open the story containing table in edit mode.
  3. Click the table, open the styling panel and set decimal places in number format as required.
  4. Click on the three dots beside the table and click on export and select filetype as XLSX
  5. Select scope as all and include formatting

Notice the number of digits after decimal point is different in the exported excel file from that set in the styling panel.

Cause

  • This is a by-design behavior.
  • The decimal format set in the table cannot be preserved as export All does not go through the table formatting process, so this information is not included.

Resolution

1. Open the table in data analyzer, by click on the three dots and then from the top of the window click export to excel, then select the two checkboxes and click on export.

OR

2. Set the decimal places as required on the model.
