3570985 - Latest Update on Service Layer Enablement in Onboarding

With the upcoming universal enablement of the Centralized Services in 1H 2025 Release, what are the latest updates on the feature timelines?

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

In Preview Environments:

After 2H 2024 Release (November 2024)

• In the Onboarding General Settings Page, the option to control the Centralized Services Toggle was removed.
• The option to disable the Centralized Services Toggle was only available in the Onboarding Configuration Object (within Manage Data)

As of the 25th February, 2025 (p19 Patch Cycle)

• The Centralized Services feature will be auto-enabled in all the preview environments from SAP
• You will no longer have the option to disable the Centralized Services for Onboarding in the Onboarding Configuration Object (within Manage Data) or in the Onboarding General Settings Page as this field will now become a read-only field

NOTE: If you are facing any application error messages during the completion of New Hire Data Review, Rehire Data Review, Personal Data Collection, Manage Pending Hire or Final Review Step, please create a ticket to SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding Product Support

In Production Environments:

After 2H 2024 Release (November 2024)

• The option to control the Centralized Services Toggle is available on the Onboarding General Settings Page. 

As of the 25th February, 2025 (p19 Patch Cycle)

• The patch on the 25th of February, will have no impact on the Production Environments. 

NOTE: If your Development instances or QA instances are on the Production stack, we would recommend you kindly enable the Centralized Services Switch (if not already enabled) and perform end-to-end testing to avoid any errors that might appear in the onboarding pages due the universal roll-out (planned for 1H 2025 Release) of the Service Layer Enablement for Onboarding.
