3571292 - Disappearance of Extension Field Value in Purchase Orders Upon Modification of Standard Field

For example Extension field value on Purchase order, when the standard field 'Delivery Date' is modified, the value entered in the extension field with date is removed.

1. Navigate to Purchase Requests and Orders work center.
2. Click on Purchase Orders.
3. Search for the PO ID and click on Edit.
4. Click on the Item tab.
5. Change the date in the 'Delivery date' field. The Extension field with date disappears immediately.

Other extension scenario is enabled. so value is being overwritten by one of the other extension scenarios.

The issue arises due to the extension scenarios added to the extension field. The extension scenarios added include:

• Material General Information to Purchase Order- Item
• Purchase Contract - Item to Purchase Order - Item
• Purchase Request - Item to Purchase Order - Item
• Service - General Information to Purchase Order - Item
• Supplier Quote - Item to Purchase Order - Item

These extension fields call the Master Data details and the data is overridden. Hence, after entering the value in the extension fields, the value disappears as the system reads.

In order to resolve the issue, you can deactivate these extension scenario.

or else if you want details entered in Purchase order to flow to other documents, so you have to check mark relevant extension scenario only.
