3571567 - Other Portlets Are Not Updated With No-Show Record When Importing No-Show

Symptom

You are performing an import of a No Show record so that an employee who did not show up on their first day of work is marked as a 'No Show'. You notice that once the import is completed, only the 'Job Information' portlet has the 'No Show' record, and other portlets (e.g. Compensation Information) do not have the record. If you want these other portlets to have the 'No Show' record, an additional import is needed.

This is different to the behaviour via the UI, where the portlets are updated with the 'No Show' record all at once.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM

SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log into environment
  2. Go to 'Import Employee Data' and import your 'No Show' Termination Details record
  3. Go to the 'No Show' employee's profile
  4. Notice that only the 'Job Information' portlet has the 'No Show' record - other portlets, such as 'Compensation Information', do not have the record
  5. Go to another employee's profile
  6. Choose 'Take Action' > 'No Show' to mark them as a 'No Show' via the UI
  7. When the process is completed, both 'Job Information' and 'Compensation Information' portlets have the 'No Show' record as expected

Cause

This is the current expected behaviour.

When the 'No Show' process is done via the UI, the system has access to all of the relevant portlets and is able to insert the 'No Show' record in all of them from the one process.

For import, however, the system only has access to the portlet which is being imported, and cannot impact other portlets directly. The 'Employment Details' and 'Job Information' portlets are intrinsically linked (e.g. the 'Hire Date' in 'Employment Details' is what determines the 'Hire' record effective date in 'Job Information') so the import on Employment Details / Termination Details creates the record in 'Job Information', but the same connection does not exist for other elements like 'Compensation Information'. As such, an additional import is required for the 'Compensation Information' portlet to add the 'No Show' record.

Resolution

This is current expected behaviour. If you would like this to be adjusted in the future, you can submit an enhancement request for the same.
