3571728 - Work Permit Information - Defaulting Country Field in HRIS Element Not Working

• Work Permit Information, an onView business rule is expected to default the Country field when opening a new Work Permit record. However, the rule does not work as expected—the Country field remains blank.

1. Create an onView business rule on the WorkPermit portlet to default the Country field to a specific value (e.g., "USA" or "Australia").
2. Assign the business rule to the HRIS element WorkPermit in BCUI.
3. Open the Work Permit portlet to add a new record.
4. Observe that the Country field remains blank instead of defaulting to the configured value.

This behavior is due to a limitation in the current framework for People Profile 3 (PP3). The onView rule only works when an existing record is present. When adding a new record, there is no existing country value, preventing the rule from defaulting the field.

• The ability to default values for new records using onView rules in the Work Permit portlet is planned to be addressed in the People Profile Experience (PPX) Edit UI, which is scheduled for release in 1H 2025.
• Until then, there is no available workaround in PP3.
