Symptom

  • An error occurs during the patch upgrade of SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise in Windows system.
  • ASE patch update log is showing '100% complete', but 'select @@version' output is not showing the latest ASE version.
  • Below error message displayed in /sybase/<server_name>/ASE-16_0/log/ase.log:
    "Updating SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise failed. Error fetching results for query: 'grant select on syslogininfo to saptu_role'."
  • ASE patch update log is showing '100% complete' along with below error:
    Updating SAP ASE ‘SID'
    Updating SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise ‘SID’ —
    Running installmaster script... instmatr: 100% complete.
    Updating SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise failed.
    Error fetching results for query: ' grant select on syslogininfo to saptu_rol« Error fetching results for query:
