3573087 - Absence Counting Rule is not considered in the Time Sheet UI Summary Tab

Symptom

  • Absence counting rule adjusted the Deduction Quantity of requested absence, but the actual absence hour is displayed in the Time Sheet UI Summary tab.
  • Absence duration in the time sheet monthly calendar view is different from the Time Sheet Summary tab value. "Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental. "

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Configure an Absence Counting Rule to always set the absence deduction quantity as 1 hour as per the Help Documentation Absence Counting Rule
  2. Assign the Absence Counting Rule to absence time type X and set field "Duration Display According To" as Deduction Quantity. 
  3. Request 2 hours absence X and the deduction quantity is adjusted to 1 hour as per the Absence Counting Rule. 
  4. Navigate to the timesheet UI, absence duration in the monthly calendar view is 1 hour, but in the Summary tab the absence duration is 2 hours. 

Cause

The Time Sheet Summary tab calculates overall absence duration in the timesheet period based on object Employee Time field Number of Hours instead of Deduction Quantity. 

Resolution

If absence deduction quantity is required to be considered in time sheet summary tab, please submit an enhancement request to have this functionality considered for future development cycles as per KBA 2090228 - How to submit enhancement ideas for SAP SuccessFactors Products.
