3573160 - Date Format in Table Report for Custom Employee Profile Field

• The date format of a custom Employee Profile field (e.g. custom10) is not displaying as desired (dd/mm/yyyy) in a table report.
• The issue occurs when a standard HRIS date field (e.g. Seniority date in EC) is mapped to a custom string field (e.g. custom10 in EP).
• The date format appears as dd/mm/yyyy in the EC report but as yyyy-mm-dd in the EP report.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. Current Date format selected for DATE fields in the instance is 'dd/mm/yyyy'.
2. Map a field between a standard HRIS date field (e.g. Seniority date in EC) to a custom string field (e.g. custom10 in EP).
3. Generate a table report with both fields included in Ad-hoc reports -> Employee Profile.
4. Observe the date format appears differently as 'yyyy-mm-dd' and not as expected, 'dd/mm/yyyy'.

• This is expected behaviour.
• This would not be considered a defect, as we cannot presume to know how these custom fields will be used in each instance, to meet specific business scenarios.

• The difference in format arises because the custom field in the Employee Profile is designed to store extra user information and is of string type. Therefore, the values in the custom field are treated as a normal string instead of a date type, with no format involved.
• As a result, the date format in the custom field will be inconsistent with the standard HRIS date field, because the custom string field is not a date type data field.
