Symptom

Placeholders are missing from the page Document Generation - Manage Document Template Mapping and Document Generation- Manage Document Template for Onboarding Documents

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create an Onboarding document/form in the PDF editor with some placeholders
  2. Upload the form in Maintain Onboarding and Offboarding Documents
  3. Click on the Mapping Icon to perform the mapping.
  4. It redirects to Document Generation - Manage Document Template Mapping 
  5. Some of the Placeholders maintained in the form are not appearing

Cause

Total number of characters for the placeholders in the form exceeds 4000.

Resolution

There is a limitation for the total number of characters supported for placeholders in a form. Currently 4000 characters are supported. If there is more than 4000 characters then some of the placeholders will disappear from the Document Generation - Manage Document Template Mapping ->formName.
