Symptom
How to proceed with the creation of the sub-entities in Data Import & Export tool.
Environment
- SAP Sales Cloud V2
- SAP Service Cloud V2
Resolution
When creating data using the Data Import & Export tool, there is the option to create the sub-entities within the root entity file. However, some entities have limitations, and the sub-entities must be created after the root entity.
To identify if this is the case of the sub-entity the user is trying to create, go to the entity itself, click on create and check if the details are present in the entity creation screen.
If appears, this means that this data can be created at the same time that the root data. If it didn't appear, it needs to be created separately.
E.g. Involved Parties in Appointment; This information is only added after the Appointment creation. In this case, you need to create the root first, and then proceed with the update to add the involved party information.
The same is applied to Phone Calls Notes, or Account Team Members.
Each case must be evaluated separately.
After checking, just perform the update as usual, adding the data that need to be created.
IMPORTANT: This process is only applied for sub-entity. The data in the root file cannot be created using Import > Update.
