3574258 - Project Invoice Request was not created; Conversion of currencies not possible

Errors occurs when trying to create new project invoice request in the system:

• Project Invoice Request was not created
• Conversion of currencies not possible
• Warning message: Error during currency conversion from ABC into DEF for at DD.MM.YYYY. (ABD and DEF represents the currencies)

However there is already a valid exchange rate maintained in the system on date DD.MM.YYYY.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Project Management work center.
2. Go to Projects view.
3. Select the affected project and click on New -> Project Invoice Request -> Create Manual Project Invoice Request button.
4. On the new page, stage 1, change the currency from ABC to DEF. 
5. On stage 3, Propose Invoice Items by using Sales order Items.
6. Proceed to the Confirmation stage and click on Finish. 
7. Errors received:
   • Project Invoice Request was not created
   • Conversion of currencies not possible
   • Warning message: Error during currency conversion from ABC into DEF for at DD.MM.YYYY.

The currency maintained in the system is not valid from the date of sales order pricing date.

Currently for currency conversion for project invoice requests with sales order reference, system will always pick the exchange rate for the date specified on the pricing tab of the sales order. Most of the time the system would also only take into account the exchange rates that already existed at time of sales order creation and not any newly created once. This behavior has been implemented in order to achieve the same results when converting currencies in sales order and in project invoice request.

Please either change the pricing date of sales order to a date which is later then the exchange rate valid from date, or maintain a valid exchange rate in the system on the pricing date of sales order.
