3574298 - The logic of how the Delivered (DLV) status is set in the production order/process order

Symptom

Sometimes the Delivered (DLV) status in the production order/process order header is set unexpectedly, for example, when the order quantity is only partially posted.
This article will explain the logic of how the DLV status is set in the production order/process order。

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Resolution

Generally, the delivery completed indicator, and with this the status DLV, are set when the material document of the goods receipt also transfers the final delivery indicator. However, there are several different circumstances in which this indicator is set:

  1. Goods movements that are triggered from the confirmation (PP)
  • Final confirmation

From an order perspective, a final confirmation means that no further confirmations and, therefore, no further goods movements are expected. The delivery completed indicator is therefore set for the goods movement for a final confirmation, regardless of whether the full order quantity is reached or not.
You can manually remove the indicator.

  • Partial confirmation

The confirmation itself does not transfer the delivery completed indicator. The record is transferred to MM, where the system decides whether the indicator is set or not. For this, the same logic is used as in MM itself (see 2).
You can manually set the indicator.

 2. Goods movements that are posted with reference to the order in Inventory Management (MM)

  •  The system sets the indicator if the delivered quantity lies within the Underdelivery / Overdelivery tolerance.
For example, if you have maintained both the Underdelivery / Overdelivery tolerance as 10% in the order, then when the delivered quantity of the order falls into 90% - 110% of the order quantity, the indicator and status will be set.
You can manually set and reset the indicator.
