3574325 - com.sap.aii.af.sdk.xi.mo.xmb.XMBManifest cannot be cast to com.sap.aii.af.sdk.xi.mo.DefaultItem when sending messages to PI using SOAP 1.1 message protocol.

Symptom

When using a SOAP sender communication channel, an error is observed in SXI_MONITOR while attempting to connect to SAP PI via a proxy from the backend ABAP application.

Error message:

Error while receiving by HTTP (error code: Configuration error on Adapter-Framework(AFW)-Server, error text: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sap.aii.af.sdk.xi.mo.xmb.XMBManifest (loaded by library:com.sap.aii.af.sdk.lib@64512 com.sap.engine.boot.loader.ResourceMultiParentClassLoader) cannot be cast to com.sap.aii.af.sdk.xi.mo.DefaultItem (loaded by library:com.sap.aii.af.sdk.lib@64512 com.sap.engine.boot.loader.ResourceMultiParentClassLoader)) More details about AFW error can be found in XI monitor MessagingException.
