Symptom
- When a new hire presents an I9 document receipt during I9 Section 2 and the employer submits I9 Section 2 with provided document receipt, the I9 Section 2 task remains pending until the new hire presents their real ID.
- The issue is that the employer is considered out of compliance after 3 days from the hire date even though USCIS states that the new hire has 90 days to provide their real ID.
- The system does not account for the 90-day window when a receipt is presented to determine if the employer is out of compliance; instead, it uses the 3-day window. The I9 Section 2 will most likely remain pending past the 3-day window until the hire presents their real ID doc, a document which they have up to 90 days to do so. However, the issue is that they are considered as out of compliance.
