Symptom
You are up to configure a SAP NetWeaver ABAP DBCON (database multiconnect) connection to a SQL Server database which runs on a server other than the SAP NetWeaver ABAP system server.
In DBACockpit, testing the Database Connection Defined in DBCON or in SE38, by executing report ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION, returns following error message:
"SQL error 99 The DBSL library supports only connections to the SQL Server Database Engine with the Engine Edition = 3. The target SQL Server Engine Edition is 8. For more information please refer to the SAP note 249714."
