3575810 - Dump During Multi-Level BOM Expansion

Symptom

The system dumps when trying to visualize more than xx level (where xx is the levels) of the Bill of Material (BOM) .

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to  Planning and Production Master workcenter and Production Bills Of Material view.
  2. Select BOM ID XYZ (where XYZ is the BOM ID)
  3. Click on Multi-Level Visualization.
  4. Key in Levels Ex: 31.
  5. The system will load the data for some time and then dump.

Cause

The error occurs when a level higher than the actual level the BOM has is entered.

This leads to a memory issue which causes the system to dump.

Resolution

Ensure not to enter a level more than the actual level the BOM has.
