3576047 - Shifts defined in work center cannot be seen in the Manage Work Center Capacity app

Symptom

Shift is maintained for a holiday in an interval in the Mass Maintenance of Work Center Capacities app (F5381), but such shift cannot be found in the Manage Work Center Capacity app (F3289).

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

When creating new intervals with shifts for holidays, the option "Override Factory Calendar" is not selected in the Mass Maintenance of Work Center Capacities app. If the option is not selected, the holidays in the interval are still workdays in the factory calendar. Therefore, current factory calendar will not allow production planner to schedule production on holidays and the holiday shifts will be ignored in the Manage Work Center Capacity app.

Resolution

To make the holiday shift also be considered in Manage Work Center Capacity app during the capacity planning, select the checkbox "Override Factory Calendar" when inserting the interval.
The following steps are provided for reference:

  1. Go to the Mass Maintenance of Work Center Capacities app.
  2. Click the "Create Intervals and Shifts" button.
  3. Select the checkbox "Override Factory Calendar" in the dialog.
