3576151 - Story saved drill Level hierarchy state in a table is not taken into account in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

  • Unable to save the drill level state of the hierarchy displayed in a table in an optimized story.
  • Reloading the story, will keep the old drill level.
  • Issue is not reproducible in classic stories: Expanded nodes are saved correctly.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Business Warehouse (BW)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC.
  2. Open the story.
  3. Set a table dimension to root level 1 for example.
  4. Change the drill to a higher level, example level 3.
  5. Save the story and refresh.

>> The dimension drill is back to root level 1.

Cause

Missing mandatory BW SAP Notes/Patches 

Resolution

Implement the following SAP Note on BW server:

SAP Note: 3546005 - BW InA: Hierarchy navigation state rejected in ODE mode - SAP for Me 

With this note and the SAC QRC 01/2025 release, the whole hierarchy navigation validation logic has been moved to the server side to avoid similar issues in future.
