3576151 - SAC - BW Live - Level hierarchy state displayed is not saved correctly in a table

Symptom

In an optimized story, the drill level state of the hierarchy displayed in a table is not saved.

When you reload the story it will keep the old drill level and doesn't restore the save one.

This behavior doesn’t happen in classic stories, where manually expanded nodes are saved correctly.

Environment

SAP ANALYTICS CLOUD 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

1/ Open the story and set dimension to root level 1.

2/ Change the drill to lower level like level 3

3/ Save the story and reload, after the prompt, you can see that the dimension is back to root level 1

Cause

This is a known dysfunction.

Resolution

Implement the following SAP Note on BW server:

SAP Note 3546005, "BW InA: Hierarchy navigation state rejected in ODE mode"

With this note and the SAC QRC 01/2025 release, the whole hierarchy navigation validation logic has moved to the server side to avoid similar issues in future.
