3576181 - Security is not working properly when using upload starter

Symptom

Security is not working properly when using data upload starter.

The data is loaded successfully although the status of the data locking is locked and the user who uploads the file has the planner reporter role.

Also, the system allows the user to publish the data.

The expected behavior is when uploading the file, rejected lines are received because of data lock.

 

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Upload excel file with limited rights using upload starter 
  2. The data is loaded successfully although the status of the data locking is locked
  3. The data publishing is also successful 

 

Cause

The user is the owner of the model and that explains the observed behavior which is expected.

Data locks do not apply to users with the admin role, or the user who created the model.

These users can import data, delete data, and publish their changes to public versions, even if it affects locked data.

Resolution

It is possible to change the owner of the model from the current owner to a different one.
