3576230 - 2025 Budget Review Update (South Africa)

Symptom

  • According to the National Treasury media statement, the Budget Review 2025 has been rescheduled for March 12, 2025
  • Payrolls especially weekly payrolls are impacted by the delay.
  • Employers will have to wait until after March 12, 2025 to apply the new tax rates.
  • Employers who must process weekly payrolls or for other reasons are unable to wait have the option to copy the tax tables from the 2024-2025 tax year to the 2025-2026 tax year.
  • Payrolls will have to be executed with a forced retro to the start of the tax year to correct the PAYE withheld.
