3576244 - Automatic addition of a generic ID type when in change mode of the Identification Numbers in Maintain Business Partner App

Symptom

  • An ID type is automatically added upon switching to change mode within the Identification Numbers in the Maintain Business Partner App.
  • Unable to save any changes, such as address modifications to the Business Partner.

Environment

S/4 HANA Public Cloud Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Maintain Business Partner app.
  2. Select the partner.
  3. Navigate to the Identification tab & check Identification Numbers - no data maintained here.
  4. Switch to Change mode - ID type XXXX - Generic ID is added automatically, and no changes can be saved.

Cause

The issue is related to the SSCUI 103654 configuration, where the identification types are defined. The Propose ID type is selected, which is causing the automatic addition of the ID.

Resolution

  1. Open the Manage Your Solution APP.
  2. Access SSCUI : 103654 - Here you can define the identification types that you want to freely set.
  3. Deselect the Propose ID type & save.
