3576453 - Rule Trace Error: Setting Picklist option external code: XXX is not exist! when setting to:XXX - Recruiting Management

Symptom

The business rule failed due to an error "Setting Picklist option external code: XXX is not exist! when setting to:XXX".

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Execute the business rule.
  2. Check the rule trace.
  3. Observe the error message "Error: Setting Picklist option external code: XXX is not exist! when setting to:XXX" and "Block processed with status 'FAIL'."

Cause

The picklist value has a different 'Non-unique External Code' than the 'External Code'. The 'Non-unique External Code' is used for fetching values from RCM picklists.

Resolution

  1. Go to Picklist Center.
  2. Edit the picklist.
  3. Search for the external code and select the value.
  4. In 'Non-unique External Code', enter the same code as the External Code.
  5. Save changes.

To avoid the error, please make sure that the consistent 'Non-unique External Code' and 'External Code' has been maintained for all picklist values.
