3576473 - HANA Startup Failure - Cannot get symlink "/var/lib/waagent/Microsoft.Azure.NetworkWatcher.NetworkWatcherAgentLinux-1.4.3563.3/amd64/NetworkWatcherAgent", errno: 13 (Permission denied)

Symptom

  • The HANA DB couldn't startup. Daemon and nameserver may not have trace file entries or information for the update failure.
     
  • While following similar error can be seen in 'nameserver_<host>.00000.<counter>.trc' file:

     
    Check process status failed for 11526 expected "hdbdaemon", reading "/var/lib/waagent/Microsoft.Azure.NetworkWatcher.NetworkWatcherAgentLinux-1.4.3563.3/amd64/NetworkWatcherAgent". 
    Cannot get symlink "/var/lib/waagent/Microsoft.Azure.NetworkWatcher.NetworkWatcherAgentLinux-1.4.3563.3/amd64/NetworkWatcherAgent", errno: 13 (Permission denied)
