3576738 - SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) system and Datasphere system could not be linked properly when enabling the Seamless Planning feature for this SAC system

Symptom

  • Enable Seamless Planning for this SAC system
  • The warning message "An error occurred and we could not link your tenants. Click Delete under the Data Storage for Planning section to reset the tenant linking process." would appear when going back to the Tenant Links page in SAC after creating the Tenant Link successfully

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud 2025.1.6
  • Datasphere: 2025.2.1

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log onto SAC
    => Use System Owner account britta.solbach@qbeyond.de to log on
  2. Navigate to System-> Administration-> Tenant Links
    => Observe that the warning message "An error occurred and we could not link your tenants. Click Delete under the Data Storage for Planning section to reset the tenant linking process." would appear
  3. Click on the OK button on this pop up warning message and navigate to "Data Storage for Planning" section on this "Tenant Links" page
  4. Click on the button "Delete" on this  "Data Storage for Planning" section to delete the tenant link
    => Observe that this tenant link could be deleted successfully
    => However, observe that the error message "
    [Application Error]:Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'appLinkUUID') would appear as well
  5. Link this SAC system and Datasphere system again on this "Data Storage for Planning" section by entering the SAC tenant URL and Datasphere Tenant URL
  6. Click on Save button on this "Data Storage for Planning" section
    => Observe that these two systems could be linked successfully
    => However, also observe that this Datasphere System URL would disappear from the "Data Storage for Planning" section
  7. Go back to Home page or other page in this SAC system and navigate to "Tenant Links" page again
    => Observe that the warning message "An error occurred and we could not link your tenants. Click Delete under the Data Storage for Planning section to reset the tenant linking process." would appear again

Cause

  • This is currently a limitation.
  • In Datasphere's Trusted Origins, there is a pattern (or URL) that matches with the Datasphere URL used for Tenant Linking causing it to fail.

Resolution

  1. In SAP Datasphere, go to System → Administration → App Integration → Trusted Origins;
  2. Review the list and make sure there is no URL pattern matching with the Datasphere URL used for Tenant Linking.
    If there is any conflicting entry, then it should be removed before Tenant Linking.
