3577234 - ATP check confirms infinite available quantity (9 999 999 999)

Symptom

ATP check confirms infinite available quantity (9 999 999 999) , which is not expected as there is no stock or receipt element available to cover the required quantity.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

If in the ATP checking horizon the availability check field is set to Full Confirmation in the scope of check, the ATP quantity always becomes 999,999,999,999.999 (infinite quantity).

When the system considers the replenishment lead time (i.e., the time required from placing an order to receiving the goods) to check the availability of materials, and the requirement date of the material is after the end of the replenishment lead time, the system's ATP check during the creation of delivery will confirm an infinite available quantity (9,999,999,999). This is normal system behavior.

This is because if the requirement date exceeds the replenishment lead time, the system assumes that the availability of the material is infinite. For materials that require batch management, availability should be checked without considering the replenishment lead time.

If you need to adjust the replenishment lead time, you need to adjust it in the check horizon. There are three buttons in the check horizon:

  • Full Confirmation
Items for which the requested material availability date falls within the check horizon, but for which inventory is insufficient, are confirmed for delivery after the check horizon. Items with a requested material availability date after the end of the check horizon are always confirmed fully. (With replenishment lead time)
  • Ignore Check Horizon
The check horizon is not considered. Items are confirmed according to the available stocks and supply elements.(Without replenishment lead time)
  • Zero Confirmation
Items for which the requested material availability date falls within the check horizon are only confirmed against requirement and receipt elements within the check horizon. Demand and supply with dates after the end of the check horizon are not considered. All items with a requested material availability date after the end of the check horizon get zero confirmed quantity.

Resolution

Go to configuration activity 101099 - Configure the Scope of Availability Check to change the check horizon as needed.
