3577389 - Refreshing Crystal report based on MS Access is not displaying data

Symptom

  • Post upgrade to Crystal 2020, refreshing Crystal report based on MS access is not retrieving data and without throwing error.
  • No issue refreshing the same report in Crystal 2016
  • Issue is only with views based on a shared path.
  • No issue with tables.
  • Executing the same query in MS access based on shared folder is working fine.
  • No issue in Crystal reports 2016.

Environment

  • SAP Crystal Reports 2020
  • Office 2408

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Crystal Designer.
  2. Create a new report based on an ODBC MS Access connection.
  3. Insert any view based on another MS Access shared file.
  4. Refresh.

>> The report refreshes without any error and don't display any data.

Cause

Office 2408 is not supported with Crystal reports 2020.

Resolution

Install Office 2016/2019
