3577499 - Error Message Not Displayed When Entering Incorrect Date Format in Talent Card 'Work Experience Within Company' Section

When using a screen reader in the Work Experience Within Company section of a talent card, populating an incorrect date format highlights the field in red and announces an error but the error message does not display on the screen.

1. Log into the system with a screen reader
2. In the module picker, select Succession
3. Select the Lineage Chart tab
4. Search for an employee
5. On the employee's card, select the Talent Card icon
6. Locate the Work Experience Within Company section and select the pop-out icon
7. Select Edit Work Experience Within Organization or Add Work Experience Within Organization
8. In any of the date fields, enter an invalid value e.g., aaa
9. Tab out of the date field
10. The date field is highlighted red and an error is announced, but the error message does not display on the screen

The user has not tabbed back into the date field or attempted to save the record

When using a screen reader to populate date fields, it's expected behavior for a date field to announce an error message after the field has moved out of focus. For the error message to display on the screen, the user would need to complete one of the below actions:

• Tab back into the date field to receive the following error message: Enter a date with the format MMM dd, yyyy or yyyy-MM-dd.

• Attempt to save the record to receive the following error message: # error(s) occurred. Enter a date with the format MMM dd, yyyy or yyyy-MM-dd.
