3578172 - Import job via multi action fails randomly

Symptom

A multi action is scheduled to run every 10 minutes via the calendar event. The multi action contains one import job that is an OData connection to a relational dataset within Datasphere. For most of the time, it does not encounter any errors. However, the job failes randomly but unable to trace back the root cause.

The following errors were observed in System > Monitor > Trace

- Data Motive Service unavailable.
- Failed to get import data job detail due to internal errors
- Failed to start data import job due to job validation error: "The data import job "XXX" does not exist, or you do not have rights to read it."
- Object was not found or you do not have permissions to read it.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

- Create a multi action connected to an import job
- Create a multi action task via calendar to run this every 10 minutes

Cause

The timing of the Multi-Action failures occurred within the SAC / Datasphere maintenance window.

Resolution

If a scheduled job is still running when tenant maintenance begins, it is expected behaviour that the job could fail as the job continues. The system currently has no way to gracefully handle scheduled jobs that run during system upgrades,
