Symptom
- When adding a new product into a sales order and filtering by keywords, the drop-down list shows incorrect results.
- For instance, entering the keyword "ABC" in the Product field returns the item "DEF", which is unexpected. (ABC, DEF represent the value of the product)
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the sales orders work center view.
- Create a new sales order, enter the mandatory General information.
- Go to Items tab and add a new item, in the Product field enter "ABC".
- In the drop-down list, the item "DEF" shows up, which is unexpected.
Cause
The Product field in the sales order considers not only the product ID and description but also other product characters including the product category. In this case, the product category is ABC*, since it contains the keyword ABC, it is determined and shown in the value help drop-down list.
Resolution
This is the correct system behavior as designed.
