- Attempt to maintain a Business Partner with an IBAN.
- Encounter the error message "bank country/region IM and IBAN country/region GB are not the same".
Cause
The issue arises due to a mismatch between the registered country/region of the bank and the IBAN's country/region. This typically occurs when the provided IBAN does not correspond to the country where the bank account is registered.
Resolution
- Ensure the bank details and IBAN are aligned. Specifically, verify that the "Bank Country" field in the system is set to GB (Great Britain), which matches the country code on the IBAN.
- Make sure that the correct bank details, such as the British bank code, exist in the system.
- When entering bank details, input the IBAN directly without pre-selecting the "bank country or other information to avoid conflicts.
