3578419 - OptionID Displayed in Region of Birth on Localized Biographical Info

• The Region of Birth on Localized Biographical Info is showing OptionID instead of the label in the profile view mode.
• This issue occurs once the employee is hired and a value is selected in the Region of Birth field.
• The issue is not related to future hiring but occurs on actual hiring.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central 

1. Navigate to the Biographical Information section.
2. Notice that the Region of Birth (RoB) field shows the Option ID instead of the label.

• This issue occurs because, in the Latest People Profile  UI, the Region of Birth field is configured as a picklist and the selected value is saved as an external code. When viewed in the profile, the Option ID (external code) is displayed instead of the corresponding label.
• Additionally, it has been found that in the Latest People Profile, without additional configuration, the Region of Birth will always display as plain text if localized biographical information is not properly configured or permissions are not granted.

1. Localized Biographical Information Setup:
   The Localized Biographical Information feature allows the Region of Birth and Place of Birth fields to be managed with cascading picklist values. If these fields are replicated, the values entered in Localized Biographical Information will override those in the standard Biographical Information block.

2. Ensure Proper Configuration:

   • Verify that the Localized Biographical Information section is being used to maintain the Region of Birth and Place of Birth fields. This will ensure the correct label is displayed, rather than the Option ID from the Biographical Information block.

3. Check Permissions:

   • Ensure that the necessary permissions for Localized Biographical Information are granted in the permission roles. Without these permissions, the localized biographical information section may not be visible or functional.

By implementing the Localized Biographical Information function and ensuring the correct permissions, the issue with displaying the Option ID should be resolved, and the correct label for Region of Birth will appear.

To customize the ROB or Place of birth for a certain country, we recommend customers use localized biographic information instead.
